For Journalists

We have coached in both newsrooms and in workshops. The newsroom coaching is a fee-based activity done for news organizations, while the workshops are directed at journalists. We are eager to do workshops in conjunction with press clubs, associations, or even a group of journalists who would be interested in figuring out ways of doing their job better. We are in the process of finalizing our calendar of workshops for journalists for next year. Please get in touch with us if you have idea, want to collaborate or just want us to do some specific workshops in area of your expertise.

For those wanting to be Journalists

Journalism Mentor is our only programme for those wanting to be journalists. It is an intensive 14-month programme with a maximum class size of 25. We are not a degree granting institution. Our students are placed in major media organizations. This programme is meant for serious students and it involves intensive work. We train students irrespective of the language in which they want to practise journalism. No student is denied the opportunity to study because of lack of financial resources. Go the Journalism Mentor website for more.

For school-going students

We are finalizing our High School Journalism programme for school students. It is designed as a programme which is part media literacy, part writing classes, part argumentative ability, part research methods and most crucially part civic engagement. Learn more about the programme, here.

For citizens

Citizen Journalism is a programme that we have been running for the last couple of years and we have held workshops in Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Goa, Hyderabad, Pune and four times in Mumbai. Read more on the Citizen Journalism initiative here.
